Total Statue-Home of the Bawden Family of Artists

We are a family of statue makers and artists. We have 6 professional sculptors that work here and they're all related. Our company was started by DJ Bawden. He trained as an apprentice under famous sculptor Avard Fairbanks of Utah. DJ mastered his craft and started making a name for himself as a religious sculptor. In the early years of the internet DJ came up with the idea of making custom statues for people to enjoy all over the world and he knew the web would make it possible.

In the late 90's DJ teamed up with Bob Talbot who helped DJ get online. Bob and DJ started iconbronze.com & iconmonuments.com. DJ also co-founded bigstatues.com with sculptor Matthew Glenn. In 2010 DJ left the previous mentioned sites to start one with his already accomplished children. In 2011 DJ and his son Joshua started totalstatue.com and Total Statue, LLC. Since then all of DJ's professional artist children have joined the team.

Get your custom statue from us and I promise you will be more than satisfied. We're positive that our custom sculptures are the absolute best quality on the web. We taught the other companies that are making custom bronze & marble statues via the web. So who would you rather go to? The students or the masters?

The History and Beauty of Bronze Sculpture

By A.L.Bawden

The rich and intriguing history of bronze art can be dated back as early as 4000 B.C. in the ancient city of Mesopotamia; and even extended to the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The most notable bronze statue findings have come from Greece, Egypt, and China. The Egyptians began creating bronze sculpture centuries ago for tombs to immortalize and honor their dead, and archeologists are still finding bronze artifacts today from Greek and Roman civilizations from thousands of years ago. After these findings, the great tradition of Bronze Sculpture was lost for hundreds of years before being revived again during the Renaissance, with great pieces like Verrocchio's 'David', Leonardo Da Vinci's 'Bronze Horse', Benvenuto Cellini's 'Perseus', and countless works by the great Donatello and many others. The finding of bronze statues and artifacts still goes on today all over the ancient world as bronze has been universally prized for its permanence, durability, and beauty.

The feelings of grandeur and majesty that a bronze sculpture or bronze monument can bring to any home, area, garden, or arena simply cannot be compared with any other artistic expression. They make such an impact as to draw every eye in the vicinity, to wonder and gaze up at it in awe and introspection. For centuries, artists from every culture and all walks of life, all over the world have used sculpture to celebrate and invoke feelings of remembrance, gratitude, respect, patriotism, reverence, and love.

A bronze monument or sculpture can uniquely capture and portray the meaningful importance of any significant moment, person, historical or religious event. bronze statue memorials transform any space into a solemn and reverent place of reverie, so that anyone that you wish to honor is immediately immortalized for everyone to cherish. Mascot statues are also another way to celebrate and honor any educational institution to celebrate the pride and nobility of your school. The reverent beauty of bronze sculpture can make all these cherished memorandums into amazingly detailed 3-D likenesses for all to behold and appreciate for generations to come. Religious statues and/or sculptures can convey the magnificence and steadfastness of all of our faiths, and help us remember the unshakable impact those figures have had for our world and in our personal lives. Jesus Statues and other religious figures can solemnize and beautify our religious gathering places, giving us a thing of captivating splendor to gaze upon and help solidify our devotions to the people who have changed our lives forever.
